One Eyed Jack

One Eyed Jack, 8 x 10, oil on board

I've  created  a similar painting to this and I enjoyed painting it so I decided to revisit the subject. These are some vintage toys from my collection. Wooden Blocks, spinning tops, playing cards, chess, and marbles are all toys or games that have been played with by many generations of children.

Peanut Butter and Jelly

Peanut Butter and Jelly, 30 x 40, oil on linen

Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches are among my top three favorite foods (the other 2 are ice cream and pizza)

Not only are these sandwiches delicious, they are also beautiful. The texture of the bread, the smoothness of the peanut butter and the shine and luminosity of the jelly all combine to create a feast for the eyes.

Games by K Henderson

Games, 12 x 24, oil on cradled board

SOLD

I am pleased to say that my newest gallery, Huckleberry Fine Art Gallery, has sold my Contemporary Realism painting Games

I like the geometrical design of rectangles and squares stacked on top of each other with a few little 'surprises'  in this Trompe l'oeil painting

You'll recognize vintage games of Cootie, Rook, Monopoly, old maid and others.

Games

Games, 12 x 24, oil on cradled board

One of my not-so-secret desires/loves/addictions is vintage toys. That includes games. I've been wanting to include a game in a trompe l'oeil painting for a long time but have been pondering on the 'right' composition.

I finally decided on stacked boxes. I like the geometrical design of rectangles and squares stacked on top of each other with a few little 'surprises' thrown in.

Of course, these pre-owned games have been played with over the years and show the knocks and bruises of life.

And I love all the color!
