Kodak by K Henderson

Kodak, 20 x 20, oil on linen

My father was an enthusiastic amateur photographer starting his hobby back when he was a kid. I have many of his camera. These vintage cameras are a work of art on their own and I can't believe I've never used one in a painting.

Fair Weather Route by K Henderson

Fair Weather Route, 18" x 24", oil on cradled board

I have a 'thing' about old suitcases and trunks. I love this vintage metal suitcase with the airline sticker on it. It's obviously seen it's share of travel  with all it's bumps, dings and scrapes.

This painting is available for purchase. Contact me for more details.

A Perfect Mason by K Henderson

A Perfect Mason, 30" x 30", oil on canvas
I've painted several small Coca Cola paintings this year and decided to create a larger Coke painting. My vintage Coke Bottle is joined by an Atlas Mason and a Ball Perfect Mason jar.

Yikes! This painting was a lot more time consuming than I thought it would be. The raised letters on each of the bottles required shadows and highlights on each of them.

The patina on the Zinc lid  added a contrast to the colorful shiny glass.

SOLD
 Available as a Giclee print

Sshhh!

Sshhh!, oil on canvas, 24 x 18

I have been invited to participate in a Bird Themed art show. While looking for inspiration I came upon a small black and white vintage photo of a woman in a bird costume. My second inspiration was a Scarlet Macaw. Combine the two (and lots of painting and re-painting) this is the result.

Available

The painting will be available at Lovetts Gallery in Tulsa

Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman, 24 x 18, oil on cradled board, detail

This is a detail of my painting  Wonder Woman. The painting will be shown at CK Contemporary Gallery. Show opens May 16

Wonder Woman is not technically a Super Hero because she has no Super Powers. She's just your ever day Amazonian who is as Beautiful as Aphrodite, as Strong as Hercules, as Wise as Athena and as Swift as Mercury.

Like Superman, Wonder Wonder disguised herself by putting on a pair of glasses. She instantly became Nurse Diana Prince.

This blue game piece represents both Wonder Woman's plane and the plane that Steve Trevor crashed on Paradise Island

Rounding out the painting is the Golden Lasso of Truth and the bullet deflecting Bracelets

Maltese Falcon

Maltese Falcon, 36 x 30, oil on linen

This is a detail of my painting  Maltese Falcon. The painting will be shown at CK Contemporary Gallery. Show opens May 21.

This painting is my homage to San Francisco. The iconic hard-boiled detective, Sam Spade still lives on in the City by the Bay.

The Maltese Falcon is a 1929 detective novel by Dashiell Hammett, originally serialized in the magazine Black Mask beginning with the September 1929 issue. In 1998, the Modern Library ranked The Maltese Falcon 56th on its list of the 100 best English-language novels of the 20th century.
