Super Valentine
Super Valentine, 12 x 9, oil on board
I painted a few Valentine paintings last year and really enjoyed them so I thought I would squeeze one in this year before the holiday.
This Trompe l'oeil painting has Valentines of Superman and Lois Lane from the 1940's and '50's. I've combined them with a heart shaped sucker with cellophane, a red ribbon, red hearts and a silver heart reflecting the blue sky
Available.

Dick Tracy Mystery Card
Dick Tracy Super Detective, 16 x 20, oil on cradled board
When I saw this card game from 1941, I knew it had to be my next painting in my Vintage Game series. The Dick Tracy character was created by Chester Gould in 1931.
I included a finger print to the tape to add to the mystery theme of the painting.

Dark Kiss
Dark Kiss, 20 x 20, oil on linen
I usually work on a painting until it has been completed. On occasion, I'll set a painting aside for some reason and complete it later. I began this Chocolate Kiss painting in June 2012, working on it and putting it aside several times. Finally (!), this oil painting came to a happy conclusion a few days ago in January 2013.
I think it was the purple/magenta foil that caused my dilemma. This is not a color that is usually on my palette and I struggled getting the colors just right.
This painting is on its way to Chasen Galleries in Richmond, VA
