June Newsletter

Greetings. The Monsoon Season started a few weeks early and we are glad for the moisture here in the Sacramento Mountains of New Mexico. The tomato plants are safe in the greenhouse being protected from the cool night, the elk and the deer. And I've been busy painting

Strawberry Delight - Oil Painting

Strawberry Delight is oil on masonite, 11" x 14". It shows strawberries in a cut glass dish, on a piece of battenburg lace.

For such a small painting, it was really a challenge. This is my first painting of cut glass. I like painting glass and I really had to keep focused to get all the geometric shapes just right.

This painting has been shown at the Oil Painters of America  and the International Guild of Realism exhibits. It is slated to go to the National Society of Artists show later this month unless I sell it first.

It is available at my studio, K. Henderson Art

Grapes - oil painting

I've been traveling to art shows lately so I've neglected this blog. Shame on me.

This painting is titled Grapes (ooo, how original! LOL) It is 14" x 11" , oil on masonite. I love the way the glass distorts the view of the grapes.

You can see a larger image of this painting on myK. Henderson Fine Art Oil website. This is available for purchase

Ball Jar - oil painting

My painting Ball Jar is finished. It is 24″ x 18″ oil on canvas.

I had intended to use the Rose Red as an under glaze and come back with a cadmium red on top but it is such a strking color, I kept it as the final glaze. I like the contrast between the gray background and jar an the vivid colors of the candy
