Here's a bit from my Mouse Project painting. Instead of showing the whole painting as I progress I decided to post 'teasers'.

The Mouse is close to completion. This is just a small part of the 12 x 16 painting

I Love painting food! American Art Collector magazine is doing a feature on artists that create Food Art in their upcoming July issue. I've decided to participate. Look for this painting in the editorial. 

The Mouse Project

Nosey Mouse, bronze by Steve Worthington

A while back I heard about The Mouse Project and I knew I had to get in on it.  Sculptor Steve Worthington asked about 20 artists to paint a still life that includes one of his bronze mice. These paintings will then be collected into a book, and profits from it's sale will go to support animal shelters.

I finally started my still life yesterday. No, the mouse on my printer is not the still life set up that I'm painting. I just wanted you to see the little guy that will be featured in my painting "Mine is a Long and Sad Tale". Stay tuned for further updates.

Spring at last! The crazy wild winds we've had lately have blown several pieces of glazing out of my greenhouse and my tomatoes are ready to be planted. April was a month of Art Awards and I'm trying to get caught up on my paintings for my galleries
 
My painting Happy Hour, 20 x 24, oil on canvas was awarded 3rd place at the Art Renewal Center Salon exhibition. The same painting was also one of the purchase awards.When the Dews Fall was included among the Top 100 Finalists
 
 
 My painting Peanuts and Gumballs, 18 x 24, oil on canvas was awarded Honorable Mention for Artistic Excellence at the Salon International 2010 exhibition in San Antonio, TX
 
My painting Blue Skies was awarded 2nd Place in oils at the MasterWorks of New Mexico 12th annual Fine Art Show
